The Journals — A Life in Motion
A Life in Motion is the evolving photographic portfolio of Audrey Marie, expanded through the collaborative contributions of Turner Jack Hunter — a long-form record of travel, observation, and the quiet practice of seeing.
Over decades of living across countries and landscapes, Audrey Marie has documented architectural details, cultural environments, and surfaces shaped by time and human hands. Turner brings complementary perspectives through aerial photography and his background in history, art, and architecture, revealing scale, context, and patterns that extend beyond the ordinary view. Together, these approaches form a layered way of looking — from ground to sky.
Rather than displaying every image at once, the Journal offers a curated and unfolding selection of work: field notes, developing series, archival photographs, and moments gathered along the way. Some evolve into handcrafted books and limited-edition prints; others remain fragments of place and memory shared here in their own time.
The photographs are not concerned with destinations alone, but with the quiet intervals in between — ceilings and corridors, streets and thresholds, light across historic surfaces, and the subtle traces of human presence within the built and natural world. Together, they form a visual record of life lived in motion.
Produced slowly and with intention, many of these works become hand-bound volumes and tactile photographic objects printed on archival paper and made to endure — vessels for memory, story, and return.
My travel notes is where this process is shared: behind the scenes, within the archive, and alongside new releases as they emerge.
A place to pause.
To follow the work as it unfolds.
And always — to look a little closer.
The metaphor of 'the path to enlightenment' perfectly encapsulates the transformative power of travel. Just as a pilgrim embarks on a spiritual journey to seek wisdom and understanding, so too does a traveller embark on a physical journey to seek new perspectives and insights. The knowledge and experiences gathered along the way become the currency that enriches our minds and souls, leading us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

At its core, Lens & Legacy Studio exists to hold what might otherwise be lost — images, places, histories, and quiet details that rarely announce themselves. It is a practice concerned not with spectacle, but with attention; not with volume, but with meaning; and with the belief that photographs, when carefully made and carefully kept, can become part of a living legacy. Our Mission is to create tangible photographic objects - prints, books, and paper correspondence - that invite people to slow down, observe closely, and live with images as part of daily life.
