ALWAYS LOOK UP — VOLUME I

A Limited Edition Photographic Study

Always Look Up — Volume I is the first published volume in an ongoing photographic study exploring European architectural art and interior ornamentation. Developed through decades of observation and travel, the book brings together photographs of painted ceilings, vaulted spaces, and decorative details that shape the experience of historic interiors.

Rather than documenting travel itself, the work focuses on the artistic and architectural elements often overlooked above eye level — frescoes, cornices, structural rhythms, and crafted surfaces designed to be experienced through attention and time. Working across analogue and digital photography, the images are sequenced to form a coherent visual study that invites slower viewing and closer observation.

Each book is handcrafted in a limited edition using archival materials, with careful attention given to printing, paper selection, and binding. Designed as a collectible photographic object, the volume presents the work in a tactile format that reflects the deliberate pace of the practice.

About the Series

Always Look Up is an ongoing photographic study of European architectural art, focusing on ceilings, wall paintings, and interior ornamentation encountered through long-term observation and return visits. The series examines how art, structure, and place interact within historic spaces, creating a visual archive that bridges documentation and artistic interpretation.

Volumes are released gradually as distinct studies, allowing each body of work to develop with clarity and editorial focus.

This volume is designed to be experienced slowly — a photographic study intended to be revisited over time.
