ABOUT

Lens & Legacy Studio was shaped over time rather than planned all at once. It grew from decades of photographic observation, long-term travel, and a shared way of seeing that developed across generations. What began as independent practices in photography, research, and exploration gradually came together as a single studio grounded in image, place, and memory.
The work is rooted in movement — years spent living across countries, returning to the same places from different points in life, and paying close attention to how landscapes, architecture, and history imprint themselves over time. Photography became not only a means of recording what was seen, but a way of understanding how place shapes experience, identity, and heritage.
As the practice evolved, so did the need for a more lasting form. Images gathered over decades demanded care, context, and permanence. This led naturally to the making of books — not as commercial products, but as vessels for preserving visual narratives. Handcrafting each book became an extension of the photographic process itself, allowing images, research, and material to exist together as a single object.
Lens & Legacy Studio is a family-run practice built on shared values rather than scale. One perspective works from the ground, through analogue photography, archives, and detail; another from the air, tracing landscape, terrain, and pattern. Together, these ways of seeing form a layered approach to storytelling that is visual first and textual only where necessary.
The studio does not follow trends or production cycles. It works slowly, deliberately, and with intention. Each body of work is allowed to unfold over time, shaped by research, return visits, and careful editing. The resulting books and photographic works are produced in limited numbers, not to restrict access, but to preserve integrity.
At its core, Lens & Legacy Studio exists to hold what might otherwise be lost — images, places, histories, and quiet details that rarely announce themselves. It is a practice concerned not with spectacle, but with attention; not with volume, but with meaning; and with the belief that photographs, when carefully made and carefully kept, can become part of a living legacy.

Photographers • Creative Professionals • Global Travellers
Lens & Legacy Studio is the shared creative path of mother-and-son photographers Audrey Marie and Turner Jack Hunter. Blending heritage, travel, and a life in motion, their work captures the world through complementary perspectives: Audrey Marie through intimate analogue and digital imagery shaped by decades of travel and observation, Turner Jack from above, revealing historic landscapes and battlefields as living archives.
For decades, they have lived a life in motion—exploring landscapes, cultures, and perspectives from ground to sky.
United by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a reverence for place, they create limited-edition prints and handcrafted photo books that preserve memory, story, and time. Their work celebrates observation, curiosity, and the slow art of seeing.
In a world that often moves too quickly, Lens & Legacy Studio chooses to pause, observe, and honour the perfection in the imperfections of analogue.
Welcome to our world.

The Studio
The studio is a quiet creative space devoted to slow observation, analogue photography, and hand-crafted storytelling. It is rooted in a life shaped by travel, architecture, water, and the gentle practice of overlooked details that hold history and meaning. Each body of work is created slowly, intentionally, and with deep respect for craft.
At the heart of Lens & Legacy Studio is a belief that beauty reveals itself when we pause. Through analogue photography, limited-edition books, and tactile mail club experiences, the studio invites you into moments of stillness—where texture, colour, and form become a quiet refuge from modern haste.
Inspired by Scandinavian slow living and Gustavian aesthetics, the work reflects a love of light-filled interiors, muted tones, natural materials, and thoughtful simplicity. Photography is paired with hand-binding, hand-tinting, and carefully chosen papers and linens, turning each piece into an object meant to be held, revisited, and lived with.
The signature series, Always Look Up, explores architectural ceilings and elevated details gathered over decades of travel. These images are not about grandeur alone, but about presence—standing still, noticing craftsmanship, and allowing the eye to rest upward.
Through the Quiet Correspondence, collectors receive curated moments by post—photographic prints, hand-crafted elements, and personal reflections—designed to create a pause, a breath, and a sense of connection across distances.
Everything created by Lens & Legacy Studio is limited, intentional, and made to last.
This is not fast art.
It is legacy work.
An invitation to slow down, notice more, and always—look up.
Who We Are
Lens & Legacy Studio is a family-run, independent creative studio founded by Audrey Marie and Turner Jack Hunter. We create authored, handcrafted photographic and interpretive, memorial volumes that preserve memory, history, and lived experiences. Our practice bridges fine art photography, historical research, and artisanal bookmaking, producing works that are tangible vessels of remembrance and storytelling. Dedicated to image-led storytelling rooted in heritage, place, and memory, our work brings together analogue and aerial photography, archival imagery, and traditional bindery methods to create carefully considered photographic books and prints.
The studio operates at a deliberate pace, prioritising observation, research, and material quality over volume or immediacy. Each body of work is developed over time, shaped by return visits, archival research, and long-form photographic editing.
What We Do
Our practice is centred on photography as both record and artefact. Working primarily with analogue black-and-white photography alongside contemporary and aerial imagery, we document landscapes, architecture, historic sites, and the quiet details that hold traces of lived experience.
Within the studio, photographs are developed, edited, and prepared using traditional methods. Selected images are hand tinted using historically informed processes, allowing colour to be reintroduced with care and restraint while preserving the integrity of the original photograph.
Photographic work is brought together through handcrafted books produced in limited editions. Each publication is designed and bound by hand using archival materials, allowing images, research, and sequence to exist as a single, enduring object. Alongside books, we also release a curated selection of archival photographic prints drawn from our ongoing and completed bodies of work.
Why We Work This Way
We believe that photographs gain meaning through time, attention, and context. In an era of speed and excess, our practice values slowness, restraint, and authorship. By working at a human scale and limiting production, we protect the integrity of the work and allow each project to develop its own rhythm.
Bookmaking is not an accessory to the photography, but an extension of it — a way of preserving images as physical objects that can be lived with, returned to, and passed on.
Looking Ahead
Lens & Legacy Studio continues to develop long-form photographic projects exploring heritage, travel, landscape, and history. Future releases will expand existing series and introduce new bodies of work drawn from ongoing photographic journeys and research-based exploration.
The studio also seeks thoughtful collaborations with museums, archives, and cultural institutions where shared values of preservation, interpretation, and storytelling align. These partnerships are approached carefully and selectively, with an emphasis on long-term contribution rather than short-term output.

The Books brings together the studio’s authored photographic publications, created through long-form image-led storytelling and produced as limited editions. Each book is shaped by time, place, and observation, combining photography, research, and material craft into a self-contained photographic work. These publications are not documents of events, but visual narratives — made slowly, intentionally, and with care for how images live together on the page.
Quiet Correspondence is an invitation to slow down and receive beauty by post. Each seasonal edition offers a small photographic work and a written reflection, created to be savoured without obligation, with collectors invited to join individually whenever it feels right. The Study Sets are hand-crafted groupings of photographic works, created for those who prefer to look slowly. Each set brings together a series of studies drawn from a single photograph, allowing light, form, and atmosphere to reveal themselves in fragments rather than in full.

Our Paper Goods are a quiet gathering of photographic journeys and architectural heritage, made tangible through handcrafted paper objects, limited-edition prints, and beautifully bound photo books. Collector editions to bookmarks, postcards, stationery, and small studio ephemera, each piece is thoughtfully produced to honour material, image, and time. Created in small batches using both analogue and digital photography, these works are designed to be lived with — objects of memory, place, and slow, considered beauty.
Our Mission is to create tangible photographic objects - prints, books, and paper correspondence - that invite people to slow down, observe closely, and live with images as part of daily life.
